Local Activities:

Indian River County is a treasure trove of natural, ecologically friendly activities, lavishly maintained golf courses, Har-Tru tennis courts, gourmet dining and trendy boutique shopping. Whatever your hobbies or interests, you’ll find plenty to do in this quaint ocean side community.

The Indian River Lagoon is a natural estuary that winds down the Coast of Indian River County, dotted with periodic islands, edged with protected mangroves and filled with wildlife. Watch dolphins put on a show for anyone that will watch while beloved Florida manatees casually and slowly meander up and down the waterway. Enjoy fishing, boating, skiing, kayaking and swimming in the Lagoon or simply sit on one of the many public docks and watch the sunset.

The Atlantic Ocean and Vero’s beach are stunning. Vero Beach offers one of the most un-crowded beaches along the Eastern coast of Florida. Stroll at sunrise and find rare seashells. Catch some rays mid-day on the soft sand. If you’re into something more exciting, surf the swells or try your hand at kite-surfing. Off shore, Vero Beach offers some of the finest fishing to be found in Florida.

Golf and tennis are a way of life in Vero Beach and you’ll find an abundance of meticulously maintained golf courses, more than two dozen of them. If tennis is your preferred sport, you’ll enjoy both clay and Har-Tru courses in our area. Polo is a favorite spectator sport in the area, and many of our residents and visitors have seen the likes of Prince Charles and other well-known players on local polo fields.

After a day of fun, browse the trendy shops and boutiques on Ocean Drive. Find the latest fashions in shoes, handbags, jewelry and designer clothing, all perfect for that special night out. Speaking of which, there are dozens of gourmet and five star restaurants in Vero, many within walking distance of the popular Costa de Este resort, owned by singer Gloria Estefan and her husband.

Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and find your own sanctuary in Vero Beach, where natural and manmade activities live harmoniously and the toughest decision you’ll have to make is which one to enjoy each day.
